DIY Memory Matching Game // Fabric Memory Game
Stitch yourself a memory matching game. Memory Match is a classic: you flip over face-down cards to find their pairs, relying on your memory to win. Beyond the fun, it’s a fantastic way to boost focus—especially for older adults. By using large, clear images or personal themes like family photos and flowers, you can turn a simple game into a meaningful, personal experience.
The real magic of a DIY memory matching game set is the freedom to customize every detail. You can decide exactly how many pairs to include (I recommend making plenty!), size the tiles to fit the players’ hands, and choose a theme that perfectly matches their interests—whether that’s dinosaurs, the alphabet, or sea life.
While it’s a huge hit with children aged 2 to 6, it’s also a thoughtful gift for someone in an elderly care facility, where it can spark social interaction and keep the mind active. Just remember: while there are no small parts, supervision is always a good idea!

INSTRUCTIONS:
This project is simple to pull off, though it took me a while because I made so many squares! The sewing was actually the fastest part; the real work was in the cutting, marking, and pinking the edges. If you’re looking for a relaxing pastime that doesn’t require intense focus, you’ll definitely want to see how this came together.
